Start a gentle game

Choose Start a gentle game. The first board has four large tiles with the pictures showing. Tap two pictures that match. There is no timer, score or penalty. Choose Done for now whenever you want to stop.

Adjust the pictures

Open Comfort settings to change the number of tiles or whether pictures stay showing. The choices depend on how many pictures there are. Your settings are saved on this device, and you can go back to a smaller board at any time.

Add family photos

Open Your family photos, then Choose photos. Pick only photos you may use and that the person is comfortable seeing. The app keeps smaller copies of up to 24 photos. It does not scan the rest of your library or change your originals.

Add at least two photos for a matching game, or choose Look at photos together to enjoy them one at a time. Optional conversation prompts have no right answer. Simply looking together is enough.

Play offline

All eight picture packs come with the app, so they need no downloads. Photo copies work offline once added. If an original is stored only in iCloud or another cloud photo service, your device may need the internet to fetch it while you add it.

Remove a copy safely

Open a photo’s Options and choose Remove this copy, or chooseRemove all photo copies, and read the message before you confirm. This removes the app’s copies, not the originals in your photo library. There is no photo sync or transfer to another device. Device backups may include app data, depending on your settings. More about removing copies.

If something goes wrong

If choosing photos is cancelled, try again when you are ready. If adding photos fails, keep your originals and try fewer photos. If a screen is stuck, close and reopen the app. Do not delete the app or clear its storage as a first step: that can remove saved copies and settings.

If photos or settings seem to be missing, stop making changes and contact support. Tell us your device, its system version, the app version and what happened. Please do not send family photos, passwords or medical details.

Comfort comes first

Offer choices rather than asking someone to remember a name or finish a board. Change the picture or stop if it feels uncomfortable.
