How We Write and Check Our Pages

Last updated

Our sources

We base our guides on public guidance from organizations such as the National Institute on Aging, the CDC, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, the Family Caregiver Alliance and the NHS, and on peer-reviewed research such as Cochrane reviews and large clinical trials. Every guide lists the sources it relies on. We open each source before citing it, and we only report what it actually says.

How we write

  • Practical first: what to do today, in plain language.
  • Honest about evidence: we say “linked with”, “may” and “the evidence is mixed” when that is the truth.
  • Respectful: we write about people living with dementia as adults, and we never use quizzing or shaming language.
  • No invented content: no made-up statistics, quotes, experts, studies, reviews or testimonials.

Who reviews our pages

Pages are written and checked by the Golden Moments team, with help from AI writing tools for research and drafting. Every page is checked against its sources by the team. Our pages have not been reviewed by a doctor or other clinician, and we do not claim otherwise. They are general information, not medical advice.

What we will never publish

  • Claims that a game, food, supplement, fast or routine prevents, treats, slows or cures dementia.
  • Tests, quizzes or scores that suggest someone has, or does not have, dementia.
  • Advice to start, stop or change any medicine.
  • Advertising or sponsored content disguised as guidance.
